    Hello Knitters!

As you can probably see, KniTalk has gotten a face lift. We hope that you will find this new site architecture a better way to see what's happening on KniTalk.

We have also added (or rather restored) some functionality to KnitU. It is now possible to subscribe to the entire KnitU forum for instant e-mail notification. That means that when someone starts a new thread that you can choose to get copies of those posts immediately in your e-mail inbox (without having to laboriously subscribing to each new thread). ...

Before you check my temperature to see if I have a fever, do you remember that I had a contest in which folks had a chance to enter a name for my newest mascot? Yup, I did! And I will be talking about more giveaways in an upcoming "Hunt the Bunny with Chocolate" series right after I announce the winner. So, to explain a little background information, this cute little bunny was given to me from the Atlanta Knitting Guild at STITCHES South.

Hmm... Now where was I? Oh! I just finished writing about the Thursday "Teachers a la Carte" luncheon, which offered a challenge to the teachers in presenting themselves to the students. The most interesting feedback I had was if the teachers could record their presentations into a video so that folks can see them before deciding what classes to take. As for the food, the Caesar salad was a solidly good standby, the salmon was divine, and the peach cobbler was yummy. The only problem we had was an over-zealous server who kept trying to take my plate when I was not finished.

Eons ago when vinyl records and console stereos were the norm, a comedian named Bill Cosby had his stand up routines made for everybunny to hear. My father had one of the albums, and for some reason this week I cannot get this one word in "Shop" out of my head. It is where he and his fellow students were at metal shop and the sounds they hammered were "Tink. Tink tink... Tink tink tink..." Though the word means "unknit back" to some of us, I feel like I am working away bit by bit, chip by chip, stitch by stitch.

Thus far I have been doing my best to stay balanced on the ball this week for STITCHES South preparations. However I must share the awesomesauce that Susan Moraca of Kollage Yarns did for a side project of mine. The size of her generosity speaks volumes, and everybunny should know about it.

Back in December during a Tweet up (a gathering for folks on Twitter.com), I met a woman who had a Youth Ministry group called the Acteens in the Cambria Baptist Church of Christiansburg, VA. Carrie Bradshaw had knitted years ago, and was thinking of teaching her teen-aged daughter and her friends how to knit. I offered to teach them if they asked and gave her my contact information.
