Think Outside The SOX Contest Winners!

Rating: 2 votes, 5.00 average.
What a contest!

The judging for all of the categories took place on Wednesday and Thursday at STITCHES West 2009. The winners were announced during the Student Banquet on Saturday evening.

Before we show you the winners, we’d like to thank the sponsors... Skacel, SWTC, Mt. Colors, Regia, Universal Yarn, Unique Kolours, Cherry Tree Hill Yarn, and addi Turbo by Skacel – (not to mention Knitter’s Magazine, KnitU, STITCHES Knitting Expos, and XRX Books) who donated over 21,000 in prizes in 27 categories.

Here are a few quick stats about the contest...

The contest received 292 entries from 7 countries (38 states in the USA, Japan, Finland, Canada, Australia, Ireland, & Russia).

Another cool thing that we saw was that almost 65% of the entries purchased their yarn from one of the sponsors’ SOX HOT SPOTS. That’s great. On behalf of all of the sponsors, we’d like to thank the contestants for supporting their LYS.

What a wonderful display of creativity! It's a good thing it went to vote, cause it would be impossible to judge a winner. They are all so wonderful. When I first read "Nice Kitty" on the grand prize winner sock, I read it as "Nice Knitty". That shows you where my head is at.

    Thanks again!

Great socks all around. The nice kitty socks are great. Got to see the socks at the SE Stitches in Marietta, GA. I was extremely impressed. A good job was done by all.

I would love to knit the work boots. Does anyone know if the pattern is available, I am willing to purchase it. I think they should have had the directions included over some that were.

Some of these are such great and creative designs! I got here from KnitPurlGurl's XRX giveaway (http://www.knitpurlgurl.com/2011/03/...-knitting.html) and I'm really hoping to win because of the Sox book -- great work!
